Fall 2018 – Lower GRT

CHANGES/THINGS TO NOTE:

WS110 – Smell of rotting vegetation noted at site in September, comments that it may have been from consistent heavy rains. Rooted emergent vegetation observed in Sept and Oct. A tree was down in the creek in September near the stepping stones but it did not block flow. There was also debris (branches etc) in the creek at an S-curve in the stream in November, but again did not block flows. No major changes in erosion noted this fall.

WS120 – Algae was low through the fall, and there were no changes observed in erosion or sedimentation. There was more flow than usual throughout the fall due to all the rains! A few areas of the Green Ribbon Trail need some maintenance attention (areas with large puddles or mud, hikers are creating walk arounds damaging vegetation). Red tailed hawk seen at site in November.

WS130 – not monitored at this time
